Data the extension handles

Header Override stores the rules you create in your browser's local extension storage. This data may include profile names, header names, header values, cookie names, cookie values, cookie attributes, cookie domains, paths, URL filter patterns, comments, and whether each rule is enabled.

Header and cookie values may contain sensitive authentication information, such as access tokens or session cookies. The extension uses this information only to configure the browser's request rules API and apply the changes requested by the user. Treat sensitive values entered into the extension as confidential and do not share them with support.

Data collection and sharing

Header Override stores rule and profile configuration locally. Request header and cookie values are sent only to destinations matching the URL filters configured by the user; response header and cookie values are applied only to matching responses. No rule data is transmitted to the developer, analytics providers, advertisers, or developer-controlled servers. The extension does not use analytics, advertising, tracking, remote code, or external servers.

Browser store compliance

Header Override's use of information received through browser extension APIs adheres to applicable browser extension store user data policies. For Chrome, this includes the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy and its Limited Use requirements. User data is used only to provide the extension's disclosed functionality.

Data storage and deletion

Rules are stored locally in your browser using extension storage. You can edit or delete rules from the extension popup. Uninstalling the extension removes the locally stored extension data according to the browser's normal extension storage behavior.

Permissions

Header Override requests access to all URLs so that user-created rules can apply to any website and request selected by the user's URL filters. This access is used only by the browser's request rules API to perform the overrides you configure; it is not used to collect browsing activity. The extension also requests storage permission so rules can be saved locally.
